is there a workaround to change the machine name e.g. "to be filled by O.E.M." to a name i like!?

it's not a problem but sometimes it's a little bit anoying :)

Not sure what you mean, are you talking about the machine network name or the user account?

Found DMIScope, tried it, need a registered version, plus it could be dangerous...

that is not what i want to change :)

i wanted to change my machine name... not the dmi data!

but anyway if others want to change the machine name from "myname's mac to be filled by oem" to "mynames ultra 1337 H4XX0R MacPro"

go to Systemsettings -> sharing -> network name :)

I'm betting you bypassed the initial setup after installing. This is the only reason I can think of that would cause 'to be filled by oem' to be put there.
