a good place to start will be with your system details... even a model number for the HP laptop is a good place to start... you can then pull the specs for it from a quick Google search and repost. Then we'll know what will best serve you.
EDIT: the specs we are looking for are: motherboard model or northbridge/southbridge chipsets, audio chipset, Video, etc. This should be good enough to start with for those of us able to give (good) advice. |
ok
can do...thanks

Introducing the new mobility high-end notebook from HP, the HP Pavilion DV6000 which is powered by Mobile AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processer running on Microsoft Windows XP Professional (optional Windows XP Home). It has one more choice of processor for you to choose, the Mobile AMD Sempron processor which is for the budget users. DV6000 boasts a 15.4-inch widescreen TFT LCD with HP BrightView technology. An optional graphic cards is added if you like: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200, standard NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 and NVIDIA nForce Go 430 chipset with AMD processors which I think is the most expensive among three. On the connectivity side, it has integrated wireless support for 802.11b/g, configurable 802.11a/b/g, Wireless LAN and Bluetooth technology, An IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port is added to support most of the future devices, three USB 2.0 ports can be found at the back of the notebook and ExpressCard/54 slot is located at the side. Watching movies on this notebook should be great with the integrated Altec Lansing stereo speakers. You can add-on a HP Pavilion WebCam and dual stereo headphone jacks if you have extra cash. It only weighs 6.5 lbs. DV6000 is now available on HPStore with the starting price of USD879.
this i all i could find. the reason I can find any more is because my laptops xp is so corrupted. i do remember having 1 gb memory and at least 1.8ghz dual core |

for you: HP Pavilion DV6000 CPU: AMD Turion 64 X2 (with the actual model number placed here) @ 1.8GHz RAM: 1GB Video: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Chipset: NVIDIA nForce Go 430 Audio: (specific model number... such as ALC888 like in mine... place here) I was unable to find the audio model for your notebook but that shouldn't matter because I'd recommend either Leo4Allv3 (or higher for less issues with updating until you get acquainted with the OS) or LawlessPPC 10.5.4, but others such as iDeneb v1.3 or iPC (when it comes out) will also work for you... and these will have audio chipsets to choose from. If you don't select the right one during your install, you can always go back and find the individual packages on the DVD and install separately. I can't tell you where to find these releases exactly but if you go looking around the torrent sites, you'll come up with some answers. EDIT: I see you went back and edited your initial post. Good... but the basics will work too. |

no. its not that easy because OS X is not designed for hardware other than the ones by Apple so it takes some understanding of your system to manipulate OS X to become OSx86. We hope to make it this easy... and really, it will later on once you've got enough experience with OS X. It will be second nature to you when installing to do certain things in order to make your system work right.
