Can't play games - Display cuts out after res change

I've been running leo4allv3 10.5.2 since it came out (I know it's old).

I have a GeForce 8600. I'm currently using nvkush but I have tried them all. Video works perfect with all of them but no matter which one I use, when I change the resolution I get a blue screen but the computer is not locked up. When I reboot everything is fine with my new settings. This only becomes a problem when a game starts and tries to change the resolution. I have one that lets you select windowed mode before it starts and it works fine.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Can you change the resolution inside the system ? Seems like your GFX isnt working properly after all.

I can change the resolution and the refresh rate but when the monitor clicks (haha, I have a crt) the screen turns blue. I have to reboot and then my resolution/refresh rate are what I set them to

Why don't you use EFI strings? It's easy to do especially with a tool like EFI Studio or something.

Also, just curious, does it work perfectly in Windoze? If not,you might try re-seating the card too

Ya, works just like it should in windows. Thanks, I will look into the EFI strings. I'll have to educate myself because I'm not sure what those are yet

Okay, well EFI studio solved my problem with the video ram being wrong but it's still doing the same thing:(

Did you delete all the old drivers before doing EFI Studio?

Will the video work with just the efi strings or do I still need other drivers?

Hey, I had the same problem. Do you have 2 ports where you can plug your monitor cord into on your video card?

If you do then try the other port.

Good Luck!
