asus pro73v for testing
 

Hi together
I got an new asus pro73V that i might keep if i manage to run osx. Otherwise i will have to return it in 13 days.
Specs:

M70VM
Duo T9400 2,5ghz
4 Gig Ram
GeForce 9600M 512 mb
2*320 Gig sata hd

anything else you need to know?

Do you think it´s worth trying?
How should i proceed?
I am quite new to this, but really, osx would be so great on this machine, i´m willing to learn.

Of course it IS worth trying ;). First get iPC 10.5.6 or any other release and try to install it "as it is", if you encounter any problems then say what went wrong and we`ll see :)

I tried ideneb with no luck. I just get a black screen and a blinking cursor.
With Kalyway 10.5.2 something is happening. I get a lot of text, it quits with the lines

When i start with F8 and type -x more is happening:
At some point it takes quite some time after the line

I run the latest BIOS on the machine, but there isn´t much to controll. Basically i can turn of the touch pad, set the boot sequence,

There is Intel Virtualization Tech and Intel VT-d
No idea what they are, they are both enabled right now.

SATA Operation Mode is set to Compatible, other mode is enhanced.

Kalyway 10.5.2 is quite old. Try iPC release or leo4all v4.1, those have newer fixes, solutions and newer kernel. Maybe you`ll encounter less problems, so wont have to fix problems.

IPC 10.5.6 will be ready in some hours.
Can´t find a intel version of LEO4all v4 right now, only version 3 orVersion 5 Server.

thats the exact version i´m going to try. Its about a month old.

When i boot with the ipc dvd i get a very short flash of the white screen with the apple logo, then the system reboots.
Any idea what i should try?

Thats the mainboard.

Try to patch the bios first. Then after patching the bios install the distro. I have a ASUS notebook and its running great witht he iAtoks Distro. :D
