Back again, a little further than last time, i have managed to get past the start up assistant using the ".AppleSetupDone" method. Now my problem is when i log in it shows me the dock with all the icons etc in it but when it goes to load something i get a black screen with the grey tab in the top left corner, and it just hangs there.

Has anyone come across this problem before and if so is there a simple fix?

no knowledge about this issue, sry but: wait until 10.5.2 Rev.1 from Zeph - it may solve your problem right out of the box ;)
