10.5.7 extensions and sys info

Hi all,
I have updated my PC to 10.5.7 and my sound did not work so I have restored whole extensions folder from backup made I made before I updated. Is that ok, I mean, all the extensions are 10.5.6 now? Or? Did I have to restore just the Audio kext?
And in my sys info(not about this mac) it says that I have 667Mhz RAM, but I have 800MHz.. I suppose that it just reads it wrong, but it works on 800MHz?

Thanks

yes it does work at 800MHz and maybe you should have tried to just replace the sound kext not all of it, because you have replaced the updated system.kext etc which will interfere with your system

thanks for reply.
what do you think that I should do now? re-update and copy just audio kext? or will re-update brick my system?
the only problem so far is usb disk mounting, it doesnt work and I really need it!

If I remember right isn't USB mounting trouble caused by System.kext not matching the kernel version? Or was it another kext? Darnit I wish I remembered lol.

I think DMG mounting caused kernel panic with mismatching System.kext and kernel versions.

To fix your USB, take a look here (the IOUSBFamily.kext):

yes it causes USB issues, you need to have matching versions so that when you stick something in it is recognised, otherwise you will need to put it in before the system boots for it to recognise it.

umm as for what you should do, if you have a backup before you updated restore that, do the update and only patch your audio. that should work...hopefull :) can never be sure with OSx86 :P
