Wireless and Ethernet Help

Heya, I installed iPC 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 (Final) on my notebook, and everything is wonderful except for the Wireless and Ethernet.

Wireless: Intel 3945
Ethernet: Intel Pro/100 VE

I selected both of their drivers during the install, and they fail to function. [I did get ethernet working once, but now it refuses to]

Any Ideas?

google :) a lot of these issues are ones that have probably been faced and discussed by other users, just search your model of hardware and add a word like kext or OSx86 or hackintosh or something :) hope that helps.

go to your preferences. Click on your internet options. when you see your network connections(both wireless and wired). try deleting all your connections(yes all of them). then create a new one(try ethernet first). go to speedtest.net to make sure that your internet is at full speed.GOOD LUCK

Thing is, the wireless doesn't show up, it's as if it didn't install; the wired shows up but no ethernet is ever detected when it's plugged in.

i also get kernal panics with the external wifi switch set to off [only during boot process]

oh ok :) umm well because this forum is fairly new, compared to most of the OSx86 forums i would suggest searching InsanelyMac the forum is extremely disorganised but it has a lot of good info if you can find it :P if not maybe try to find the thread of that user and get the kexts that were sent to him? or even get in contact with him via PM and ask him how he got it working?

SquidLord 06-06-2009 03:48 AM

i've been asking on insanelymac, they have a tendency to not answer :-/
i asked there a while ago and i'm coming back to osx86 :P

well, i know the wireless is a love/hate kind of thing atm, so umm, any adivce for the Intel Pro/100 VE NIC?

here you go :)

or just get it off the iPC disk... just try reinstalling it and boot with -v -f

SquidLord 06-06-2009 04:43 AM

oh you....anyways, reinstalled didn't work, booted with -v -f on the first boot with it reinstalled. granted -v -f did work once, but it's not now. I don't feel like uninstalling it, but I will if it calls for it...don't know where it's located though.

jumped back to the wireless, and out of no where, the wired started working :D don't know if it's going to continue working, so where's a good guide to look for updating to 10.5.7? something detailed for the semi-newcomer :P
