Realtek ALC850 8-Channel Sound Issues

Hey gang! Thanks for all the help in getting my system working just the way I want it;) Now the only issue I seem to be having is with my sound. As you know I have Tiger version 10.4.9 installed on my P4P800-E Deluxe board and everything worked right out of the box, but there is an issue with the surround sound and I am having a very hard time trying to figure out why OS X will recognize the on board sound chip but not allow the full feature of the chip? The front channel works, including the sub woofer, but the middle and back channels do not work? I will continue to search around to find a solution. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again guys you all have been a great help!:)

If you are trying to get full 8-channels audio, thats really hard to achieve or imposible.
I dont know if VoodooHDA works in Tiger but I would try that first. Other than that you would probably need to patch AppleHDA yourself if some other person hasnt done it for your mobo yet...

Thanks...I was not sure if anyone had ever experienced this particular problem with this chip set, but I did find some interesting information while I was browsing on Google. I am not trying to get 8 channel audio per say..just trying to get 5.1 surround to work. There seems to be a way to do this by "fooling" OS X by using a program called "soundflower". Unfortunately I can not use this trick until I can figure out how to update my 10.4.6 installation. That is on another thread here and I am still trying to resolve that issue. Once I get it figured out I will post a fix for anyone else who is experiencing a similar problem with their board.
Again thanks for your support..you guys really know your stuff!:)
