What Version for my PC? ASUS A8N-E ACPI, AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core - 4400+

I have installed a version of leopard on my pc but upon boot I get the apple window and the eventually a stop logo/waiting for root device Using Ducky-OSX86-10.5.4-AMD_ONLY right now Specs: ASUS A8N-E ACPI BIOS Revision 1013, 4/7/2006 AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core - 4400+ Total Physical Memory: 4,096.00 MB NVIDIA nForce 4 Parallel ATA Controller NVIDIA nForce4 ADMA Controller CDROM: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1213S SOUND: Realtek AC'97 Audio VIDEO: Radeon X1800 Series Onboard Networking: [00000008] NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller Disk: WDC WD3000JS-22PDB0 Have anyone installed on a similar system or have any tips on troubleshooting this issue? I have tried booting into safe mode with no luck while also trying to press F8 while in this boot process with no luck. I have installed this on a Sata Drive with no problems booting into the boot sector, it's upon boot and after waiting 2-3 minutes I will see the stop sign/waiting for root device. Any help would be appreciated. |
Troubleshooting is a lot easier if you can see where it's hanging. Booting with the -v flag will give you verbose mode.
If it is 'Still waiting for root device', make sure you've installed support for your Nforce4. Off the top of my head, I think the driver is called NforceATA. |
Best option is to install retail Leopard using BOOT-132 method.

NforceATA would sound right, I notice that the Waiting for device appears right after the uuid parameter for the sata harddrive by the looks of it. I'm rather new to this but thought that the NforceATA would have been included in the release I installed, I guess i'll need to somehow get the driver loaded onto the partition with bootloader? |

It's guide to install Leopard on PC.
All you need is Leopard DVD and BOOT-132 CD. You can download this both from the internet. nForce and AC97 drivers are easy to find too. |
