Apple Software Update just download a 278MB file! WITHOUT ASKING ME... wtf??? now it wants me to install 10.5.8 and I gotta back up all my crap... GRRR. wanna tell me what things to back up??? PLEASE HELP, i HATE updateing on Voodoo... specs in sig

Back up:
  • mach_kernel (/)
  • seatbelt.kext (/System/Library/Extensions)
  • System.kext (/System/Library/Extensions)
  • Audio/Video drivers

You can also turn off Automatic Update Downloading by going into:

System Prefs -> Software Update: Deselect the checkbox "Check for updates"

alright ^_^ im bak on top, almost everything working, QE QGL, Core Image and full res are working, now I just need the correct System.kext and seatbelt .kext. Im on 10.5.8 with 9.6.0 AnV Voodoo Kernel. whatcha guys got for me? Man I had a little scare while I was stuck in a boot loop lol but I swapped out the kernels(via MacDrive 7) and it booted up alright.(no video drivers but its all taken care of) Oh and also, it STILL thinks my comp is a MacBookPro 5,1... i even installed the MacPro SMBIOS from iPC... grr any ideas on that aswell?

seriously... somebody has to have this... it will take like 3 seconds... atleast tell me what to be looking for.
