Very hot CPU under snow leo at EP45-UD3P rev1
Have You noticed any difference of temperature between 10.5.x and 10.6 ?
I have UD3P rev 1.0 bios 10e, (dsdt.aml, fakesmc, LegacyHDA, OpenHaltRestart, PlatformUUID and 32bit legacyIOAHCIBlockStorage) and my cpu is up to 75C idle when in 10.5.x idle temp is about 48C Where could be a problem ? thanks |
How are you checking the temperature? Also try that this NULLCPUPM
|
These are my temps measured with CPU-i
http://a.imagehost.org/0090/idle_temps.png In Leo I would idle in low 30's. Speedstep seems to be working but Voltage stays at max. Idling @ 75° is not healthy at al and should be taking care of ASAP. A big jump like that makes me think it's more hardware related. You haven't changed anything since installing SL? |
Thanks, NullCPU... resolved my problem, now idle temp is back to 48C with passive cooler, thanks again

You can also measure core temps with Hardware Monitor but its not free and it seems much more limited than this one... |
You people are lucky, Mine at idle is about 72-83ēC.
Yet again it is a laptop so it's bound to be a little toasty.. |
Yes please send me the link for Cpu-i!

Found it! (google can find anything, if you know how to search for it...)
http://www.applelife.ru/topic/16509-cpu-i/ (Google Translation) EDIT: it needs a cpui.kext not included, can be found here Pretty cool utility, much better than Hardware Monitor! I have SpeedStep working out-of-the-box? I got no clue how... |
