Hello,

after i just have tried Mac OSX 10.5.1 on my AMD machine and didn't got my nforce4 onboard for ethernet, i downloades this package and burned it to a dvd.
i successfull got the old version installed, so i don't think it's my mistake that i get that error after 2 or 3 minutes after booting from the leopard dvd:

I have the same exact problem with an ATI HD 2600 XT.

My specs:

Asrock 939Dual
AMD X2 3800
2GB of DDR

I tried swapping the video card for an older Radeon 9500 and that allowed me to get around the purple screen. Unfortunately, I ran into other problems once it came up with the 9500. So, it looks like the 2600 XT might be the problem. :(

i got the same problem with hd 2600 mobile

i booted cd with F8 (then type "-x" flag and ENTER)

you will be able to boot in and install it normaly..

after that if you lucky you will be able to use Leopard normaly, i didn't be able to config my card yeath, so i need -x flag to boot into OS

Thanks TigPT. I was able to boot but now I'm in the same boat as you. I can't get the system to boot unless I'm in safe mode.

I tried altering the ATIRadeon2x000.kext to include my device ID but I just get a corrupted graphics screen after I boot. I also tried the Leopard Graphics Update and also tried the Triakis package (although, it seems like this is what is already installed with the Zephyroth CD).

Anyone have any other ideas on what we can try? I guess I can try a different video card for now.
