I downloaded the 10.5.2 iso 5 minutes ago, burned it at 2x and get the above error upon booting from the disk:
[immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components, use only one style] I have also had this same error with different releases [iAtkos etc] Hardware: HP Compaq 6715b laptop AMD Turion64 X2 [2.2ghz] [supports SSE,SSE2, SSE3, MMX, 3DNOW and x86-64] 2GB DDR2 667 [5-5-5-15] ATI X1250 graphics card ATI RS690 Chipset / SB600 southbridge SATA 250GB Samsung HDD DVD-RAM burner Other usual laptop hardware [card reader etc] My BIOS is very limited, no RAID/ACPI options, overclocking or any thing other advance [unlike my quad core gaming system] Will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge/what i can try. Thanks in advance. Scottath |
That error is normal on a hackintosh, nothing that will stop it from booting.
|
It gets displayed twice, once at the top of the page, then againg at the bottom, then the whole lot stops and the disk spins down then it sits there:
I'll try and get a pic for you! |
This photo was taken using the iAtkos release, but the 10.5.2 Zephyroth has the same error/hang:

That's not very far into bootloading and I've never seen IOAPIC 0x21 - I thought it was usually "11" or "14"... I'm going to try 10.5.2 on my 690G/SB600 desktop and see what happens (the x1250 onboard is disabled but...)

Sorry, no help...
My 10.5.2 DVD booted right into the System Installer on my 690G/SB600 desktop. (10.5.1 would never do that!) The Disk Utility even saw all of my drives. Must be something specific to your laptop... (again, like eddie said, "xxx has immediate dependencies on ...." is a fairly common occurrence and has never stopped any of my bootups - it's likely something else (something that's happening AFTER that message)) |
Is there some way to make my hdd run in ide mode [without using the bios as that dosen't exist]?
I'll try and get a pick this arvo of the actual error in zephyroth's, as that was from iATKOS It is a HP laptop so there is proably something about it. |
Here is the leopard screen after booting with -v

In my case, the DVD .kexts found all of my SATA drives and my IDE drives - but again - my MB is going to be much different than yours... I haven't had a BIT of luck with 10.5.1 or 10.5.2 on my Compaq laptop (uses an older AMD/ATi chipset than yours)). Maybe someone else can be more helpful - good luck.

I'll get a report from everest for you all so if anyone has the same kexts needed, you can direct me.
