swap out video card, help
 
hi all


my snow 10.6 its running good, but what i like to no if i can swapout video card.,
my system has a 8800GT640 install, can swap it with 9800GTX2, if so what do i need to do....

can anyone help....

If the card is supported by Snow (I think it is) you would just have to remove whatever method you use to add QE/CI (EFI string, Chameleon, injector) to the 8800 and take it out and plug the 9800, SL should reboot fine but without desktop acceleration, then just reinstall the EFI String or whatever you used to have QE/CI (if the card is plugged in the same slot it might not be needed to do all this but it should be safer).
