HELP!! Almost there with Dell 630M Pentium M - Intel 915GM w/ IAtkos 10.5.7

Ok so first time hackingt0sh installer here, had a friend give me the IAtkos 10.5.7 disc as it worked for him first shot...not so for me. Ran into about 4 issues, solved 3 of them.

Specs:
Dell 630m Laptop
Pentium M 2.00 Ghz 2048kb cache
Speed Step Enabled
2Gb DDR2 SDRAM
14.1 Wide XGA 1280x800
Intel 915GM Graphics (GMA 900?)
Audio Sigmatel 9200
Intel Wireless

Issue 1: Would not be able to boot from the DVD, blue screen.
Resolution: Attached external display

Issue 2: After installation, would not find my drive
Resolution: Installed Intel SATA/IDE drivers

Issue 3: Kept rebooting on initial boot:
Resolution: Installed Voodoo kernel 9.7.0

Issue 4: Gets stuck at a blue screen on boot. Not a lot of time to read the output but here are some lines i got before the blue screen:

Code:

vid1 family specific matching fails
vid2 family specific matching fails
ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out
Some message with

Code:

IndexCI in content IndexOpenBulk:No Index

Resolution: NONE!! HELP!!!

I'm not sure what to do at this point, i have tried a few combinations.

Here are the configurations currently selected on Install:
IAtkos v7 Main System
Chameleon v2
9.7.0 Kernel Voodoo (To fix reboot problem)
/extra directory
DSDT
AppleDecrypt
Disabler
Intel SATA/IDE (To fix disc problem)
Post Action Install

Any help would be appreciated. I am hoping to at least be able to get to the OS so that i can then modify drivers for my video card etc...

If they don't annoy you (i.e getting stuck for long time...), I think you can ignore those messages.

Doesn't the external display solution still work to get past the blue screen?
How about booting in the safe-mode? (Using -x boot option)

Read here about how to make your GMA900 work:

I was constently connected to an external display, it helped me boot from the install disc blue screen but not the one i have now.

Yes i have tried booting in safe mode with -x with no difference.

I have read the info on that link but how do i install the kext if i cannot even get into the OS?

Also how do i make sure what kext are stock? I am using IAtkos 10.5.7 so which options do i select on configure?

I just downloaded IPC 10.5.6 osx86 if that somehow helps?!

Unfortunately i don't know how to install the kext :(

open up OSx86 Tools. Click Install Kexts. Then select the kext. Repeat for both. WHen restarting, boot -x.

All mobile computers with GMA900 are affected by this, I know people made use of a paperclip made dongle to connect two pins of their VGA port - but this should just be the fix if an external monitor would gonna work also...

I am not home right now so i cannot verify but is OSx86 Tools accessible on the Atkos boot DVD? If not then how would i install it without going into the OS.

Also it says i need no patched drivers. Can u tell me if any of the customizations i selected in my initial post are ok?

Last, it says the drivers are to be used in adition the the GMA950 drivers, therefore i must include the GMA 950 drivers from the customization list as well correct?

No - GMA950 drivers are on stock.

This are just modification to make various GMA950 which are not supported out of the box to work with OS X. Nothing you will need.

Ok so i just got home and booted with the Atkos v7 DVD and saw that there was no OSX86 tools. How else can i install the GMA900 kext?!?

the watcher 10-22-2009 03:57 PM

Ok so i finally got it to boot. Make sure the AHCI kext in installed and boot from the DVD and press F8.
enter "rd=disk0s1 -x" without brackets and make sure external display is connected. This should get you into the OS. Install the 2 keys mentioned above for GMA 900 and you should be good to go.
