VoodooTSCSync for Snow Leopard

It seems to work on amd 3800+ x2
Rebooted several times, installed new kexts, changed dsdt.aml and still no bug.

Here it is for us lowly non tsc syncing laptop bios's.. VoodooTSCSync for Snow..

This is for a core2duo only.. If you have issues w/ more than 2 cores check the Info.plist and the IOCPUNumber that the kext will match on.

Special thanks go out to turbo for the inspiration; Kabyl & Superhai for the plist power, and mackerintel for all the hugs.

I shut down my computer for 8 hours, and when I rebooted the mouse/system lag came back

booting with cpus=1 and repairing permissions fixed nothing. had to reboot in windows 7 since I can't fix the damn bug..

scififan68 11-06-2009 12:05 AM

What kernel are you using? and i tried this with the new kernel and it causes nothing but problems with amd computer.

spalek83 11-07-2009 12:06 AM

it doesn't do anything for me, to be honest. it loads, but the bug I am having still happens with this or not.
qoopz kernel btw
its for cure2duo only according to it's maker, I just was hopeful that it would fix my bug. but it in itself doesn't cause me any issues. it dosn't apply itself to my first core, only my second. not sure what it's doing but I left it there anyway.

not work

It does not work for my 10.6.2.
I still need cpus=1.
I install it to /Extra/Extensions.mkext or /S/L/E/, neither work.
I have a core2duo, I modify the IOCPUNUM to 2.

What special installation steps?

i would try asking in the forums where it was made/released http://forum.voodooprojects.org/inde...pn&topic=795.0

spalek83 , post your dsdt.dsl

It seems to be more of CPU alias issue or timing issue or hit up on IRC @ #snowleopard @ irc.osx86.hu and look for apoc. He made a special kernel with timing issue fixed. You should contact him if you want to test or post your dsdt , so I can take a look at it

spalek83 12-11-2009 03:11 AM

i'll post it when I get home

2 Attachment(s)
dsdt.dsl included as attachment since it's too long to post, as well as my bios's rom file.

before i was using the auto patcher, so this is an unmodified dsdl.dsl, i have the evo dsdt tool app, havn't really done much with it yet, one thing is that it dosn't need the cmos reset fix as the length is automatically 2

been in the #snowleopard channel you advised, so sign of apoc yet

getting this figured out would be nice, as I'm about to buy to equipment due to the frustration of it, yet one thing that dosn't make sense is this bug dosn't happen when I am using no graphics acceleration (no transparent menubar). i don't understand how that is relevant, and no it's not the common 8xxx nvidia bug, i've tried all those solutions "remove appleupstream kext, so forth)

thanks prasys
