[HELP] Need to install iAtkos 5i on my laptop - Project to end my course(iPhone app)
Hello everyone.
My name is Marco. I am from Portugal. I'll describe my problem. I am almost finishing my school, To finish it i'll need to do some Project... i want to do some little app for the iPhone. But I don't have any Macbook, nor the money to buy it. So my chance to do the project is use on my Laptop the Mac OSX. But guess, I don't know how to do it. I downloaded the iAtkos 5i... but I don't know what to do after this... My "machine" is: Compaq Presario CQ60. Intel Pentium T4200 2.0Ghz. 3Gb 667mhz DDR2 Ram. Geforce 9200M with 256Mb. 250Gb HDD. Atheros wireless LAN. Motherboard, I don't know what is =/ Please can someone help me? Is very important for me! Thanks in advance and sorry for my wrong english. I am portuguese and I'm not used to write in English. |
Do you have the oportunity to boot Linux or BSD? Knoppix or something like that?
If so then enter "lspci -nn" on the Shell and post the output with that info we might tell you what will be possible and some hints what you might pay attention when installing. |
Can I do this using VirtualPC?
If I can do this with a virtual machine, I'll post when I download the knoppix. I have no CD to use the live boot CD. I have to download. I have just one HDD, with Windows Vista. thanks. ;) |
No that won't work. Also I don't know how to get detailed hardware infos including device-ids and everything using an non-unixoid system like the one of M$ as I am allmost not using such OSes, sorry. :D
Special infos like the used southbridge are important if you're looking for the kernel extensions you need to boot OS X properly. |
I finished downloading knoppix 2 hours ago....
Tomorrow i'll burn it into a CD, and then i'll post the results ;) Thanks for the help imkantus. |
New reply to say:
I put knoppix into a DVD, but I don't know why it did not work. Probably some bad release... Today my teacher gave me a Ubuntu 9.04 CD and I finally could use the Live CD. I entered ubuntu Live CD, i entered in the shell, BUT, after writing "nspci -nn" it said that the code was wrong. Am I doing this correctly? Thanks . Marco Camoes. |
It's lspci not nspci.
Maybe you also need to add "sudo lspci -nn" it's possible that you don't have the permissions to use the program. |
Ok, thanks.
Finally it worked, :) Here it is the result: ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo lspci -nn 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a40] (rev 07) 00:01.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset PCI Express Graphics Port [8086:2a41] (rev 07) 00:1a.0 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 [8086:2937] (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 [8086:2938] (rev 03) 00:1a.2 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #6 [8086:2939] (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 [8086:293c] (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller [8086:293e] (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 1 [8086:2940] (rev 03) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 2 [8086:2942] (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 [8086:2934] (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 [8086:2935] (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 [8086:2936] (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 [8086:293a] (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge [8086:2448] (rev 93) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge [0601]: Intel Corporation ICH9M LPC Interface Controller [8086:2919] (rev 03) 00:1f.2 SATA controller [0106]: Intel Corporation ICH9M/M-E SATA AHCI Controller [8086:2929] (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus [0c05]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) SMBus Controller [8086:2930] (rev 03) 00:1f.6 Signal processing controller [1180]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) Thermal Subsystem [8086:2932] (rev 03) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation GeForce 9200M GS [10de:06e8] (rev a1) 02:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Looks good so far. :)
Next step is to burn the ISO to a DVD, then boot from it, choose your language go ahead to menu and lunch the disk utility & partition your HD - you will need an empty HFS+ / MacOS Extended Journaed Partition with atleast ~10GB. Follow the setup until the screen, where you select this partition - don't continue right away with installation from here - instead click on Customize button - dialog should look like this: http://awevo.net/wp-content/uploads/...ccbfbf09e6.png I would only select a bare minium of the avaible fixes like this: iATKOS v5i Main System PC EFI V9 dsmos Disabler.kext PS/2 OHR Intel SATA Laptop Battery If everything wents fine you shoudl be able to boot after install - for the GFX, I would later install either nvdarwin.kext or create a EFI String with custom NVCAP. LAN should work out of the box - I am not sure about the wireless, but there are people having Atheros cards with 0x168c device ID working vanilla. :) For the sound you can either try with VoodooHDA.kext - or if you want the input jacks or an internal mic to work also, I would recommend to create Linux codecdump and patch AppleHDA using Tarugas Patcher App. (Search for a codec*** file in /proc/asound/card0 - mine is for example codec#2 yours might be different, then use "sudo cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#2 > ~/dump.txt" copy dump.txt from the Linux users home directory and drop it into the patcher icon.) Good Luck. |
oh thank god i found this thread.
please Mr Imkantus i hope you can help me too I have windows 7 and ubuntu dual boot and I have a project for iPhone as well and i was wondering if i can install mac on my laptop, given that i have only one HDD in the laptop this is the result of lspci -nn command on ubuntu 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a00] (rev 0c) 00:01.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 PCI Express Root Port [8086:2a01] (rev 0c) 00:1a.0 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 [8086:2834] (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 [8086:2835] (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 [8086:283a] (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller [8086:284b] (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 1 [8086:283f] (rev 03) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 2 [8086:2841] (rev 03) 00:1c.5 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 6 [8086:2849] (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 [8086:2830] (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 [8086:2831] (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 [8086:2832] (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 [8086:2836] (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge [8086:2448] (rev f3) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge [0601]: Intel Corporation 82801HEM (ICH8M) LPC Interface Controller [8086:2815] (rev 03) 00:1f.1 IDE interface [0101]: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) IDE Controller [8086:2850] (rev 03) 00:1f.2 SATA controller [0106]: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA AHCI Controller [8086:2829] (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus [0c05]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) SMBus Controller [8086:283e] (rev 03) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8400M GS] [10de:0427] (rev a1) 02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection [8086:4222] (rev 02) 08:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
