Welcome to InfiniteMac Community,
Please share some more information about your Hardware (specially the used mainboard or your chipset) and the installation method you are trying - guess it's some prepatched system as you wrote something about using Tiger. - without more information noone will be able to support you. |
System Specs.
I have Win XP installed tri booting with ubuntu 9.10 and 8.04 on one WDC WD1200BB-22GUA0 HD, and I have a second HD with mac tiger on it.
I have 2.59 GHz CPU, and 1GB of RAM My motherboard is a 2005/06 top-of-the-line gateway motherboard Lastly, I installed Tiger from a dvd from my bios, and just followed the normal steps (though I formatted the hd with macdrive) I don't know what other specs are required mitch9654 |
At least the ones you gave are pure nonsense.
Go ahead and boot Ubuntu, open Termnial and hit this two commands, and post the results: sudo lspci -nn sudo cat /proc/cpuinfo |
from the first command
Code:
00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation 82865G/PE/P DRAM Controller/Host-Hub Interface [8086:2570] (rev 02) Code:
processor : 0 mitch9654 |
Well OK, to install Tiger I would recommend to get "JaS OSx86 10.4.8" image, during setup, customize it and add "JaS Intel 10.4.8 ATA kexts included" this should might fix your chipset issue.
Also you should ensure that your P-ATA drives have correct Primary and Slave configuration - I always had problems with Cable Select or incorrect confs on OS X. Anyway I would recommend you to get a GeForce 6*** or 7*** series graphics card and install Leopard or Snow Leopard instead of Tiger. Many of the fixes we are using aren't avaible for the greyed old tiger. ;) |
thanks for your help! :)
though... Is there any way to configure the one that I already have? I have slow internet |
