can i install 10.6 on dell studio 1737
 

hi there.
its a great forum of OS X 86,well i wanted to know,i have dell stdio 1737 laptop,can i install leopard or snow leopard on it,or iAtkos,ideneb or etc etc...

my laptop specs are.
2.18ghz dual core intel
4gb ram
320gb hdd (c drive is 70gb)
vga - intel GMA 4500MHD
-------------------------
intel processor control utility tell me that my processor has SSSE3 and SSSE4.but there is no option for virtualization technology in BIOS.

just let me know,can i install 10.6 or not.....n if i can,which version,i mean iAtkos or which one...

I do not know if you are able to install 10.6, but it s possible. ;)
But take care that there is no graphic accelation for the 4500MHD on OS X.

Actually, I saw a post on how to get the 4500HD (and X4500) working correctly. Just search for it and you'll get it.

Not all 1737's have the same CPU or GPU, so be carefull of that.

I'm researching the same thing.

I have Successfully installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my dell studio 1737!!

Personally I used iAtkos s3 v2 and after much trial and error have most things functioning properly... I do not have the same Graphics card as you I have an Ati HD3650 and I've got 1440x900 res working which rocks lol... The main thing I have found that I can not get working and probably will not have working ever is my intel wifilink 5100 agn wireless card... There is no support for it.. Does not exist so if you have this wifi chip then don't even bother... Happily I have an iphone 4 with an unlimited data plan so I just tether my phone and rock on lol....

If you have any questions I can help with just ask and theres a few tutorials on youtube for our laptop but as the other dude told you not all studio 1737s have the same cpus so its not a guarantee that it will work the same for u as it has for me.... I'll try and be responsive to any questions should you need....
