hi i got everything working.. but then i use transmission it hangs up and i need 2 restart my pc.. anyway... i use azureus now and it works a little better...

the thing i really wanted to get help with is that i got a dual core cpu amd and it only shows one core.. in the link below the specs for my motherboard and cpu is shown

any one know how to get the both cores up and running ?

Yup - It reports that way for everyone. Mine too. There are a few other posts here that reference the "same problem". Could have saved yourself some typing... I'm sure both cores are working, but to verify get a utility like "menu meter" or "macHUDZ" that will show CPU, disk, memory, and/or network stats.

Nice level 2 cache eddie! :p

Mine is all over the show too...

clicky

Apparently I have 1 core and a 200Mhz bus instead of 2 x 1000Mhz - so I'm guessing its AppleSMBIOS not reporting correctly? However, Activity Monitor.app confirms that I have 2 cores running though :)

question is eddie how did you fix it or are you using 9.1 ?
As mine showed correctlly in the 10.5.1 version.
Mine also shows a 200 bus would this slow down my system or
is it just incorrect text, i'm sure changing the string would be pretty
Easy. Maybe it is neglecting the 5x hypertransport.

You could have told us a bit more about how you fixed it eddie, or
if your using a different install.

There are some updated AppleSMBIOS you can try here http://my.macdotnub.info/content/view/19/26/
that are hardcoded to fix your FSB. That picture is not from this release, as I just upgraded my computer. But on my AMD machine I used an updated AppleSMBIOS.

And had to be a smart-alec... ;-)
Show us your memory specs in System Profiler with that new SMBIOS.

I updated to the latest default one from the above site, installed it, and it changed to the new one in the about screen but my bus is still set to 200, there seemed to be a few ram ones but I couldn't tell what the others were for, I use a 3800 x2 processor I think after hypertransport the fsb is 1000 but I can't be sure. If I hardcode it wrong it probably will crash. It would I guess be 200 without the 5x ht so maybe it right.

what do other think, does it effect the performance or is it just label stuff? My pc seems pretty fast, the processes seem just as fast as when im in windows.

Should I bother trying to change it more or is it just cosmetic??

Thanks

It is just cosmetic. I have the same reports in System Profiler and my system runs as fast or faster than windows that shows all the information correctly.
