GeForce 9600M GT Black Screen

Hi guys,
I have successfully installed Leopard 10.5.7 with the iAtkos distro and everything is pretty much working fine except my graphics card. It's a GeForce 9600M GT with 512mb installed in a Sony Vaio AW31M/H and when I boot up the system I have only a really poor resolution available. I have done some looking into this and am aware that numerous other forums have covered this card to some extent but most have died out and are no longer being updated. I have tried loads of injectors such as NVinject and NVdarwin but all lead to the same outcome - the black screen mentioned by many others. I am unable to check whether I can output to another screen but I know the OS is running as I get volume sounds etc. When I remove the offending injector using the terminal I get my screen back but same resolution issue. As I can't find any up to the minute info about this is anyone still working on this/having this issue? Any help or direction to a current thread would be most appreciated,

Kesley

I would suggest you to try injecting using an EFI String with custom NVCAP (maybe it'll work to readout "display" value using EFI Studio) or maybe latest PC_EFI / Chameleon with GraphicsEnabler option instead of a kext based inject. :)

Hi thanks very much for the response. I would love to try what you suggest but I have no idea how to go about it. I don't know how to use an efi string or how to make one for my card and I don't know how to set an nv cap. I also wouldn't know how to undo it if it didn't work. So sorry but would you mind explaining how to do all this? I've heard of people using efi strings but I've never seen a detailed description of how to use them or undo them. I've also heard these haven't worked for other people with this card. Would I need to remove all my injectors before using an efi string? There are loads of them now sitting around in my extensions directory. Thanks again for your help, Kesley

Update: Thanks for the advice Imkantus, I did some reading up and found out how to generate and install a gfx string for this card and it now works perfectly well! If anyone else is having this trouble I've posted how I did it in a separate thread.
