Snow Leopard Install won't boot :(

Here's my specs:
  • M3N78-CM Mobo (GeForce 8200 Chipset)
  • AMD Athlon 64 (x2) 5000+
  • 3GB Ram
  • 3 PATA HDs
  • 1 SATA HD
  • nVidia 8500GT 512mb

Using these kexts in "Extra/Extensions":
  • AHCIPortInjector.kext
  • AppleDecrypt.kext
  • ATAPortInjector.kext
  • Disabler.kext
  • fakesmc.kext
  • IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext
  • JMicronATAInjector.kext
  • NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
  • OpenHaltRestart.kext
  • PlatformUUID.kext
Edit: Also tried removing fakesmc.kext and replacing it with dsmos.kext, but same result.

So. Here's my problem. It installed fine, and I followed this guide whilst installing, which many people have seemed to have luck with. It's also the same guide as everywhere else (mostly). Everything went well in the install, and after rebooting and selecting the "snow" drive, I get this error:

Code:

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin  :start-wait For Service(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement)  timed out.
I have seen others with this error, but they were able to boot into Snow Leopard using Safe Mode (-x) My install won't boot with any flags, (-v), (-x), (-f), arch=i386, x32, etc. Nothing works.

Need help!

I've never had problems with this machine before, using Leopard 10.5.8. Really need this now to carry on with my iPhone Development for versions 3.2 and 4.0!

Edit; SOLVED (Read below)

Solved :D

Just to start off, Snow Leopard is amazing! It runs so much better than leopard on my machine, everything is instant. I like the UI improvements they made too - especially with quicktime.

Anyway, to fix it, I downloaded Hazard's SL release and installed with the following options (plus more, but they're more obvious ones):
  • Combo Update 10.6.2
  • Legacy Kernel 10.2
  • Elliott Force Legacy RTC (This fixed the whole problem!)
  • AMD Patch

After installing that, I tried booting with -v, but didn't get anywhere :( It booted into a black screen after a while with "No Signal" - the generic one from the monitor. So, I tried booting with -v and -x and I got in! After reading up a little, I installed NVEnabler64.kext into /Extra/Extensions, and then rebooted, prayed, and smiled as OSX SL booted successfully! - Even with QE/CI & QC working!

As I have installed SL on an external harddrive, I have to have legacy USB disabled in my BIOS for my computer to recognise it during boot. This means that I need to remove the Apple keyboard & mouse before booting, then replace it once booted. Kinda annoying, but still. It's worth it, and I only turn it on once a day, then it's left on :)

Good luck.. !
