Hey everyone, as you may already know, shortly awhile ago, I was having trouble with my Finder. I checked my system profiler and noticed a difference in the information that was given. Instead of the serial number that zephyroth included in his latest release YK...., I have CK.....etc. Also, instead of the system being described as a Mac Pro, it shows Mac. Lastly, the BIOS was written as Hackintosh, etc when I first installed the system, and now it shows Award BIOS International, etc. Can somebody please tell me if this is suppose to be normal. If it is not, why could this have happened. Thank you.

This is what the system profiler shows:
Hardware Overview: Model Name: Mac Model Identifier: Processor Name: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz Total Number Of Cores: 1 L2 Cache: 512 KB CPU Features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SSE3 Memory: 3 GB Bus Speed: 200 MHz Boot ROM Version: MP11.88Z.005C.B08.0707251237 (Award Software International, Inc.) Serial Number: CK....so on and so forth Is this normal? |

I already installed the latest mac.nub, can that be why the information changed? How do I find the latest version of ToH on my system? Did a newer ToH file release after Zephyorth release 10.5.2 Rev.1? Does this have any connection to the Finder?
|
@roisoft, is this change to the profile normal?
Also, what does the ToH Kernal do? How do I install it? And how do I know if I already have the latest ToH installed? Please help, thank you. |
Is there anything else? PLease let me know. Appreciate it. =))

this is the last toh kernel with shutdown/reboot fix, download, extract and rename the new mach_kernel to ToH and copy to the root open a terminal and set the correct permissions chmod/chown, at boot press f8 and type ToH then open a terminal and type uname -a . See your system profiler as well, and for your finder run the marvins utility.

okay, now is it normal if the information on the hardware profiler changed after updating the SMBIOS?
|
Yes itīs normal, donīt worry :), if you like this kernel, open a terminal and type
sudo -s (password) cd / mv mach_kernel old_kernel mv ToH mach_kernel reboot |
I should have clarified, not SMBIOS, Boot ROM =) same thing from our interpretations. Is this kernal more recent than Zephyroth's?
