Nvidia 8600M GT HW Acceleration not working on iAtkos S3 v2
Hello everyone, i have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a Nvidia 8600M GT 256mb and i cannot get the hardware acceleration to work.
I see this because exposè and scrolling windows are really slow and choppy. I already tried with multiples kexts (NVInject, NVEnabler, NVDarwin, Natit), someone gives KP, someone recognize badly the graphic card (less VRAM), someone it's ok but no performance improvement. I tried with EFI String but i can generate it only for the Nvidia 8600 GT (not mobile), and no HW Acceleration. I also tried with dsdt, but nothing to do.... What i'm supposed to do now? :\ |
Have you tried GraphicsEnabler yet?
I had the same problem with my 8800M 512mb. Nothing would work (natit, NV, EFI). I actually had to use graphics enabler. in my apple bootlist i used <key>graphicsenabler</key><string>y</string> However... it didnt' work for me until I actually typed in graphicsenabler=y on boot and I can't remember but it was something along the lines of "graphicsenabler=y -pci=0" or "graphicsenabler=y pci=1" I remember that on my laptop graphics enabler didn't work because I had to tell it the right PCI. I hope this helps. :) .... my 8800M GT is running all resoultions with native in place and vram qe/ci |
Well i installed NVInject 0.2.2 through XDarwin Installer, then repaired the Extension folder permissions and on reboot i have the acceleration (menu with transparency, smooth exposè) but no QE/CI.
Can i use GraphicsEnabler with a injector? |
Just use Chameleon Graphics Enabler , nothing else. You should get full resolution and CI/QE. It happened to me.

What ? Menu with transparency ? If so, you have CI/QE
