MSI a6000
I have a msi a6000 and it seems it doesnt like any version of a os other then windows 7.
i tried to install mac os x 10.6 on there and it just shows the command prompt at the beginning but then it goes and reboots. it does this over and over. does anyone have any ideas what it could be. i also tried empire efi and it just does the same thing and empire efi errors out but i can not see what the error code is and i am not sure where to find the latest version of empire efi. Technical Details: * Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6600 2.2GHz / nVidia GeForce 8200M-G * 16" diagonal widescreen LCD / 4GB DDR2 Memory / 320GB hard drive * DVD±RW/DVD-RAM/DVD±R Double Layer / 802.11b/g/Draft-N * Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium sorry if this seems stupid but its driving me nuts |
The easiest solution would be to use iatkos S3 v2 to get Snow Leopard to install first, then try to mess with vanilla.
Typically, select the following fixes: cpus=1 fakesmc NullCPUmanagement Voodoo PS2 for keyboard/trackpad Wireless driver for your card driver for ethernet if not natively supported reboot fix NVEnabler for video card SATA fix for your intel ICH* chipset Once you get into osx, you can remove them by dsdt, efi-string, etc doing trial and error. Once you have everything figured out, do a retail install. try it and see how it goes |
cr600 msi notebook
Hello all.
I have 10.6.6 running on my msi cr600 notebook usinh iatkoss3v2 usb install. I managed to follow your post for the asus50in to get my audio working but I have no speaker output. 3.5 out and mic works fine though. Is there anyone that can assist me with a dsdt. Also noted some other fixes in this posting and if anyone can shed some light on them, I would be most grateful. I had to use -force64 maxmem=2048 -v to get the installer to complete cuz I have 1 4 gb module. Previously I had 1 2 gb module and did not have to do that. Took forever to figure that out reading hundreds of postings for about a week and a half. Thank you so much. Happy hackintosh user. Jeremy |
cr600 dsdt speakers not working, dsdt aquired and bcm4311 working but no autostart...
I am now running 10.6.6i hazard and found a dsdt for my main-board however even though it compiles with 0 warnings and 0 errors and overall it is a major improvement, I still have no speaker output. I know it is a pin config dsdt edit, is there anyone out there that can help me fix this please. I will happily consider PayPal donation to anyone that successfully fixes this for me.
I also swapped out the WiFi with a broadcom BCM4311 and have native airport now, however it will not auto-start at reboot even with key-chain edit I found online. It is not a big deal though as it does work reliably. Thanks so much. I am happy to share my edited dsdt for this notebook as well. Thank's community. Jeremy skype jrviccari [email protected] |
I just finished a Snow Leopard install on my MSI A6000.
I have fully working everything except internal wifi. I used tonymac86's installation guide using iBoot, OSX 10.6.2 Retail, and the post configuration utility Multibeast (google his installation guide for download links) Then I installed the base OSX 10.6.2, I installed the OSX 10.6.7 update combo from Apple's site. Before rebooting after the update, I ran multibeast choosing the options of: http://img232.imageshack.us/f/nvidiax.png/ I'm pretty sure under miscellaneous I choose to restore the USB option checkbox too. If you don't choose this, you'll lose USB support. This repairs permissions and installs the necessary drivers for the laptop. Then once you reboot, you no longer need to use the iBoot CD and you're good to go. What I don't have working is: 1) Internal Wireless - The driver name is Ralink Rt3090 for the card but I haven't found a suitable mac kext/driver to load. Here's a thread of a guy who got the driver working on Ubuntu, so it must be this driver: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1488041 2) The keyboard mapping of the control keyboard button won't remap to the MAC command button. This means you can't do ctl+c for copy, etc. If you plug in a regular USB keyboard, it'll automap perfectly, but the MSI keyboard won't. I'll keep working on this one but if anyone knows how to get that mapping to work, it'd be awesome. I already tried a third party program that re-keys the keyboard but still no luck... Audio works perfectly. Video works great. I'm still going to look and make sure the OS knows my video card and knows it has video ram (required by some programs). Also, here is a cut from the CPUZ utility that probes your hardware information for the MSI A6000 Laptop Code:

Good show on the install. I have combo 10.6.7 and also used multibeast. However I am using Hazard 10.6.6i and autopatcher to make a generic DSDT that works as good as the one I obtained from Empire EFI.
I do know you can get the ralink driver from ralink's site, however, it is 32 bit only at this time. I changed my wifi card to a broadcom bcm 4322 and it gives me native apple airport wifi b/g which works perfectly with no kext files to install. Lion DP2 does require a mod for the wifi to work because the dropped my current wifi card. I was able to get it to work very easily though so basically I am dual booting lion and SL 10.6.7. I did change my dvd burner into a hard drive tray, don't ask it was really hard and involved soldering. In the end, I am now using an external slim dvdrw and 2 internal 500 GB seagate hard drives. Lion and SL on each drive. Kicks Ass Big Style. If you have anything else worked out and wanna share notes on issues email me. [email protected] Take care, Jeremy :) |
