Lion AMD Vmware 8.0.3

Hey Guys,

I'm running ubuntu 12.04 and VMWare 8.0.3 and have unlocked it.

I keep on getting this issue:

Quote:

The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. Power off or reset the virtual machine.
I do have hardware virtualization. When I was using ubuntu 11.10 and VMware 8.0.1. I had snow leopard working fine. Except I lost the vmware image when updating to 12.04.

No matter if I try using Snow Leopard or Lion VM I get this damn error.

Yes, before anyone mentions it. I have tried using Virtualbox but I keep on getting a kernel panic.

So anyone know how to get around this? There is a virtual hardware bypasser but it's only for Windows.

Can anyone please advise? I'd rather not have to go out and buy a mac mini.

Can anyone give me some advise on what to do. It was working until I redid my machine with 12.04.

@no1youknowz

hello,

FYI, I virtualized SL 10.6 and lion 10.7 on my AMD VTBX, interest is low, hence my advice.

get a much better working with a real system.

I like running ubuntu. I use it primarily as my development machine. I can then virtualise other linux distros and then Windows 7 when I need it.

I don't want to be running a mac OS as my main machine. No thanks.

I just want a Mac OS just to develop iOS app's. That's all. I will only be using it for a few hours a day.

Finally got this to work under virtualbox. :)

I was following this guide:
Code:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=278181&st=0
Has anyone else followed it?

When I ran mpkg, I wasnt presented with any other options like network drivers, graphics drivers, etc. It's running but could be a lot smoother. Can anyone give pointers on what else to install to the HD to make the experience better?

So far I have given it 2 CPU, 4GB ram and enabled 2D graphics. But would like it better.

Oh and one last question. Whenever I do "About Mac" it essentially crashes and reloads the desktop. Is there anyway to get the system info?

Thanks!

Hey man,

I know you are trying to be helpful, but you are not helping LOL!

Anyway, I am swapping out the kernel for 10.7.3 as the default is 10.7.2.

But I am losing the network.

I need 10.7.3+ for xcode 4.3.3 for Lion.

Any help?

Cheers
