I was just wondering if anyone had a fix or solution to the mouse movement bug issue that is present in a very long thread on this forum, I've read through most of it but other than disabling one cpu is there any fix to the issue that could allow 2 CPU's :). I know reading somewhere that someone replaced their SMBios.kext with the netkas one and that it made their system stable, but I'm not entirely sure if that's related. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I still have the issue as well,
Thought I had a fix by disabling Spread Spectrum in Bios, gave me 1day8hrs uptime (normally I'd get about 8hrs) but as we speak my system is rebooting after the notorious bug(ger) reared it's ugly head again. Haven't tried the netkas SMbios trick yet, think that's next on the list for me.
What have you tried so far apart from cpus=1?

my quick specs:
Msi K9AGM2, AMD 64 x2 6000+, NX8600gt 512mb, 2GB DDR 667 Ram. Zeph 10.5.2 R1, 9.2.2 kernel.

Try IDLEHALT=0, worked for me and others! :)

@Voyn1x: Been there man, pretty much everything on the old mouse bug thread, I've tried.

Still stuck with the problem, everything seems to have some kinda effect, longer/shorter uptime, but nothing seems to have fixed it.

Yeah, I'm burning Kalyway's Latest version now. Lotta people seem to be happy with it so I'll see if I can join them

How do I go about changing that setting? And exactly what does this setting do?

just type it into the boot prompt. It seems to disable CPU idle. I seem to track this problem down to broken LAPIC implementations (both my boxes have it broken, so no cpu idle in linux). Might be same issue in OSX.

...as above or add it to the com.apple.boot.plist then you don't need to type it in everytime. The only bad side effect is that your cpu will run around 10 degrees hotter than normal :(

Kalyway version has given me no issues with this anymore, been running all weekend without a hitch. Farewell mouse bug, take your twitching with you!!!
