i also had the kernel panic over the desktop but on rebooting twice it...

try to use the single update not the combo update...

if you are on 10.5.2 update to 10.5.3 ect until you reach 10.5.5

open the update and drag the pkg package into the downloads folder the run...

Hi i followed the above example with the Voodoo kernel in place .... using Apple update .. i am than prompted to restart to complete update to 10.5.6 ...then the screen changes to the default empty...

i run Amd with sleepKernel, have see posts for a Voodoo Kernel... why...
