i had a similar problem, with iPC 10.5.6 in a P IV (SSE2) FIC VC-11 motherboard, just hanged in the "Using xxxx buffer headers and xxxx cluster IO buffer headers"... it turned out it was a ACPI...

just to make shure.... you're on AMD...are you aware that you must choose Voodoo kernel when in AMD or SSE2 systems? And in this case you must choose too Seatbelt 9.5 ...

boot failed
yesterday i format one of my only disk partition (was in fat 32) to Mac OS Journaled . This disk have 3 partitions (one is OSX boot with leopard 10.5.6, working ; the 2nd and 3rd were in NTFS),...

little question
i just upgraded from 10.5.2 kalyway to 10.5.6 (using Netkas method), and all went fine... after this i installed a nVidia EN8400GS (NVInstaller 41) , after some minor things i got the graphics...
