Its not advisable to install Apple's updates unless told otherwise (by the gurus). The updates, more often than not, will break our systems - particularly AMD based ones.

I didn't. I don't have another install of OS X on this machine so I guess that rules me out?

Edit: Running Toast with Rosetta allows it to launch. However, that is not an ideal solution.
