Yes ur right, this happens with some systems not for all systems with 4gb ram, whatīs your config, mobo, HDD, DVD...? and do you have in bios memory remaps options?

maybe ur right, but maybe the problem is in the ethernet or HD controller, you can try this, edit the apple.com.boot.plist and add this line under kernel flags

"maxmem=3072" (without the quotes)...
