boot.efi is the file used by real macs to boot to that volume. It sounds like the bootloader you selected didn't install correctly. Either this or you selected the wrong one. How did you customize?

Patching isn't what "you" need to do... its what the installer should have done during the install if the AMD Patch was applied...

I haven't seen anyone here using it (at least not yet)... but I have noticed a few over at insanelymac pointing out they were running it on 10.4.9 by uphuck and lower... I'll PM you with more info.
