Updating Kalyway on HP workstation xw8200(full specs inside)
First off I would like to say hello.I am nerdyperdy and like this site very much and am glad I found it.Second..I am trying to install an update to get me to at least 10.5.6 and even 10.6.
Hp Workstation xw8200: Motherboard-HP model 08B4h/Intel chipset E7525/Southbridge Intel 82801Eb ICH5 Dual Xeons @ 3.2ghz a peice 4 Gigs ddr-2 @400 speed Nvidia Quadro FX 540 w/128megs ram(DVI,VGA,S-Video) 1TB,320gig and 160 gig hdds. All Western Digital.Itb is USB other 2 are Sata HP Lightscribe dvd burner Asus dvd drive What is checked during istallation:Kalyway 10.5.2 install dvd Kernel-_9.2_sleep Bootloader-When I start my comp, it says loading Darwin Audio-Nvidia VIA ATI HD Audio Controller Nvidia AC97 Audio Reltek Sigmetal Conexant Analog Devices HD Audio Codec Graphics-Nvidia_Geforce NVinject 128 Network-Apple BCM 440x and 5751 ethernet drivers Apple RTL8169 Ethernet Marvel network adapter Reltek R1000 Mobo Chipset-Apple NforceATA Apple onboard Pcata Apple Viaata Apple Generic Pcata SiliconImage 3132 Patches-Hardcoded_Smbios PC GenUSB_Fix Francais_pc_keyboard-layout Its up and running and have had no problems except with iMovie from iLife 08. Would not start. I have tried the iDeneb combo update but I got the 'no parking' sign and had to boot with -v-x-f to get that far. I have tried iArkos v7 and that didn't work either. Also tried iDeneb 10.5.6 combo update with my current install and then by itself. The only on thats worked in Kalyway. I will say that upon restarting from the iArkos v7 install, it asked me were I wanted to boot from, I picked the hdd were it was installed, but all it would do is restart(happens with EVERY install(including updates)) I would like to update to 10.5.6 at least for the new software(iLife09,Safari 4 etc, etc) but am clueless. If there is a way for me to run 10.6, that would be awesome. If anymore information is needed please let me know. I have been to several different forums and have recieved NO help.Even during installation. Thanks in advance ~Nerd P.s..Am I 'vanilla' Last edited by nerdyperdy; 09-11-2009 at 05:43 PM. |
