![]() I just managed to get the ISO for iATKOS v7 and it seems to work fine!
But when I reach Disk Utility, I dont see anything! I created a 30 partition for NTFS and FAT32 each, but still no luck! ![]() Then I tried installing it on my external HDD and it detected, so I installed it successfully but once the installation is done and after it restarts, it goes back to the installation screen due to the presence of the boot dvd in my dvd drive. If i remove that it just loads up the regular windows 7. I even changed the boot order and kept my USB Hard drive to first and DVD/CD ROM to 2nd, still it dint boot and it loads Windows 7 OS. ![]() Any reasons as to why its not loading from the external HD. I know the installation was completed successfully! Is there anything i need to do inorder to boot from external HDD! Thanks a lot! waiting for your reply ![]() ![]() |

Welcome to InfiniteMac Community.
Before you attempt to install OS X on non-Apple Hardware, I highly recommed you to get some detailed knowlegde about your hardware. The brand is allmost minor important, what you need to know are details like the used chip - like in this case you / we need to know the kind of Southbridge used on your mainboard. To make us able to help you, you ofcourse also need to share this informations with us, I would suggest you to add informations like your CPU, mainboard modell etc to your signature. Now obviously having it installed on the external wasn't your first choice. If you still have that install on the drive you should be able to boot it.
1. Get the UUID for the install partition on your external. Boot the DVD and go into Disk Utility. You can see your external. Right click your install partition and select information. You should now see a long alphanumeric string Something like: "CC3DCCBD-1CF3-3FEE-8D50-625375FEBF3D". Copy this Unique Identifier to a sheet of paper and shut the computer down. 2. Boot using the UUID Start your machine up with the DVD and type Quote:

IDE vs SATA: We can help you but you have to also do some leg work yourself. Try google sata vs ide and look for a pictures until you find the answer
UUID: Same as above this information is readily available via google. We are using this ID to tell OSX where to boot from. What way is your HD connected? IDE or SATA?

how could i change my drive from AHCI to Compatibility Mode! Because I read that doing so mite boot the OS from the HDD.
I also read you do it by pressing F2 ---> BIOS --> Advance --> and select AHCI to Compatibility! But wen i press F2, i cant see BIOS screen or anything, I tried everything, f2, f9, f10 but cudnt find BIOS menu! So my question is from where could i change that, because it mite work after this ![]() Thanks HP Pavillion dv6500 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-53 Motherboard Manufacturer - Quanta, Model - 30CF Chipset and Southbridge - NVIDIA nForce 560 BIOS: Brand - HP, Version - F.07, Date - 08/09/2007 Memory: 1024 MB DDR2 GPU - Standard VGA Graphics Adapter A1 |

I would recommend heading over to hp's website and downloading a copy of your computer's user manual as accessing your bios settings will be useful.
