OK guys, since many of us have huge problems getting this integrated sound card working correctly,
I started this NEW thread where you can POUR all your knowledge and info (what you tried etc. and didnt seem to do the trick). I have tried many suggested procedures and downloaded many available kexts to no avail. The best Ive gotten it to work is: I get a sound and it is cut abruptly (lasts about a second), then all further sounds are nowhere to be heard. Its just silent like we are used too. Well actually all sounds shorter than 1 second are cut short and audio ceases to function. If I play multiple audio shorter than 1 second, I can hear them. Could be buffer problem, latency,.. Im no expert. My vendor ID is: 1106 and my device ID is: 3059 making it 0x30591106 in the kext. My procedure is, delete old kext, copy new one, give it permissions, nano it and save, then I use disk utility for repairs and reboot.

I tried many many kexts, too; till I found this AC97 kext (stereo working, all line in and outs, too):
P.s.: Just use <a href="http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=54098">KextHelper</a>. Safer and quicker for idiots like me (and you?) ;-)

After adding the kext, I see no difference whatsoever.
Sound stops after 1 sec and it doesnt play again. Vendor and device IDs are correct, soo Im quite baffled by this one. I love solving problems/mysteries and all, but this LITTLE problem took me all day down the drain. I give up untill ZEPHYROTH provides us with some workable alternative. Maybe some other (sub)system is to blame. Is it possible that the file somehow gets replaced back (reverts) to the original version after reboot? People said it worked in 10.5.1 rev 2., I would appreciate kexts from that release.

Much time has passed and I still face the same problem.
No audio. :/ Can someone copy/paste instructions on how to I remove previous kext,... use kexthelper to replace it, and any neccessary step? I tried downloading that ZIP file again with no luck extracting it.

I started a thread on this too. I'll try this kext later today and let you know how it goes for me. A similar thread was opened long time ago at: http://www.infinitemac.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=1061&page=2#Item_12
But that only applied to AC'97 (for me).
