normally you look at the kernel panix information , and it tells you what file got the panic . Then you google the file + 10.6.2... pretty easy stuff ....

I really could with some help with this too. Same thing happened to me when I tried to update.

I am a complete newbie to all this however I managed to get a solid install with this board everything seems to be working spot on (I think).

I have installed loads of stuff and all works well.

When I get to this system needs to restart what are my options

complete format and start again
or can I go back to 10.6.0 somehow

I know this is probably written somewhere on the forum but having great trouble finding and understanding the correct way of going about it.

@fantome2024 if you found a solution please it for me thanks.

Hi guys,

I had exactly the same issues as you did.

Basically, rebuild your system from scratch following whatever guide you originally used (I followed this one). Then download the 10.6.1 update from the Apple support site (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL930), install and reboot.

Then download the 10.6.2 update from the Apple site (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL958) and install. When it asks you to restart, open up Finder, go into your /Extra/Extensions folder and replace SleepEnabler.kext with the 10.6.2 version which can be found here. Run Pfix and reboot and you should have a fully functioning 10.6.2 Hackintosh.

Please note, you shouldn't install that version of SleepEnabler until you've upgraded to 10.6.2 because it'll give you a Kernel panic on boot.
