I have a similar problem... I go to the apple boot screen, and then a circle appears loading, and then a big "x" in a circle appears. I am really dissapointed that I can't get this to install, so I have kind of given up.
I however wonder if you have the 10.5.1 leopard installed, and then you pop the 10.5.2 cd in, can you install it that way? I wish I could try it, but then I need to install tiger first, and then 10.5.1. The problem is the way I install tiger is I use another intel computer to complete the installation, and I don't have access to that computer, since it is in a repair shop right now. I'm keep on telling people, the best way to see what the real issue is, is to boot with -v and check for any problems. If there are post them here, then may be we can find a solution.
