Advice needed on multiple video cards

Hi, first up - thanks for the huge amount of effort and data on the project from all involved, it's a beautiful thing!

I'd like to get 10.6 running on my new i7 930 but I have an ATI HD5970 which I suspect will never be supported by the OS. As a workaround I was wondering whether it was possible to install a second video card for OSX use, while still keeping the HD5970 in the box? I couldn't find any info on it, but has anyone done anything like this in the past?

Thanks!

No problem if your mainboard has a second PCIe16 lane.

Also be sure to set the second card / the one for use with OS X, to be initial PEG in BIOS setup.

If your second card will be nvidia use EFI String for inject, if you're going to get an ATI 4XXX for second card, use GraphicsEnabler and edit ATIRadeonX2000.kext & the Controller kext corresponding to your card, to match your second card's Device ID only.

Thanks Imkantus! I do have a second PCIe16 and will probably get an ATI 4xxx to drop in. Thank you very much for the info, it's really appreciated.
