I'm very new to all this. I've installed Zephyroth 10.5.2 rev2 and all seems to be working very well - great job!
I'd like to install OpenOffice, and I gather I need to install X11 first. I don't remember there being an option to install X11 during the installation, so do I have to get X11 from somewhere else? |

Generally speaking X11 doesn't work on AMD, if you really want it working search this forum I put a link somewhere to the Quartz version which works to some degree, but personally I think you might be better trying neo office, or wait for the new release of open office that will run on osx

OK - thanks for that, I'll have a look at neo office. I take it this means I won't be able to run Darwine either?

But, if you're brave, you can try to get X11 working. I have it working completely, but OpenOffice itself is a bit of a pain in the ass to get to run. I'm still trying to make that work.

jbeckers, X11 seems to be running fine here on my AMD machine as well.
Darwine works fine, but OpenOffice, as you described, doesn't really work flawlessly. The first introduction wizard gets stuck at some point. |

I chose the optional package 'X11' when I installed zephyroth's release, as far as I remember.

I don't think there is an X11 option, in rev2 anyway.
