Acer Aspire AS6930
Seeing if this notebook could run OS X. I already tried iATKOS 5i and the system doesn't even try to boot off the disc. Going to try iPC next.
Specs: Acer Aspire AS6930-6942 (http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do?...CRC=1511809838) Core 2 Duo T6400 Nvidia 9600M GS Chipset Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Edit: Tried iPC 10.5.6 and it hangs at Synaptics Touchpad 6.3. iATKOS 5i was able to boot up but the install failed after it was verifying the disk. My burners cannot burn slower than 4x either. Guess I'll try the Boot-123 method with a retail copy of leopard now. Last edited by Syaoran; 04-17-2009 at 01:44 AM. |

bad memory
I think you may have bad memory. I had a similar problem where the disk check would fail every time on known good disks. I'm very interested to know if this one works so please post your progress. Could you post the output of lspci -vn with a live Linux disk? Thanks much! It's hard to tell from the drivers download area at acer what's actually in this unit because they group all the 6930 series drivers on one page, and then leave it to the user to figure out which one is correct. Kind of lame. But it looks like the 6930-6942 has an Atheros wireless, Atheros Lan, Realtek audio.....should work ok in OSX.
Good luck! PS I don't think this one has Intel® GM45 Express Last edited by jimbojones; 06-07-2009 at 08:31 PM. |
