Dualboot Vista and OSX not a noob major problems

I have been at this for hours for something that should be easy for me... This isin't the first time that i have dualbooted vista and osx.

normally i install vista on the first HDD and Mac on the second. i use mac's bootloader and then everything is all fine and dandy.

now i am trying to do the same exact thing on the same machine, but mac partition doesn't get activated. NOW I AM REALLY PISSED BECAUSE I NEEDED THIS READY BY 1 PM TOMORROW AND IT WON'T BE.

I have tried activating using diskpart in windows vista recovery disk
i have tried using vista bootloader with easy bcd and when i select mac os x option i get a pink screen....
I have tried activating it using the terminal in the boot cd....
I have spent like 6 hours on this and am really disappointed... fast replies are appreciated

Currently I am installing mac as standalone because i can't stand windows and this is the only way i can get mac to boot

I was using IATKOS v7...

If they are in different HDs, the default installation of each Vista and Leopard should make its partitions active I think. Selecting the Mac disk as primary should do it.
Other than that you could try using Parted Magic Boot CD.
