My USB flash drive can't boot after restored using disk utilities?

Hello all,
After reading on tons of information about restore an iso onto usb flash drive using diskutilities, I did 5 times with 2 different usb drives and none of them boot. I checked the contents against the iso and all files are there. What am I missing?
Please give me some tips.

Thanks,

Louis
