Ok;
I installed leopard on the computer, every thhing went smooth as silk. Did the EFI patch, also worked well. Now when I go to boot the install in Hackintosh mode, I get a big time kernel panic. I have read and read on this, and nothing seems to get me through this. Any suggestions on how I can trouble shoot this issue??? |

Ok here is what I have.
used the -v flag Last thing to load before the painc... ACPIPlatrorm. tells me it has immediate dependencies on both apple.kernet and apple.kpi. ; use only one style. I get the panic at caller 0x001A7BEB Then I get the reg dump. backtrace.. tells me the loadable module is (unfortunately) AppleEFIRuntime(1.1.0 BSD Process name is kernel_task My Stuff AMD SEE2 4400+ processor Gigabyte GA-M55Plus-S3g Nvidia GeForce 6100 don't care about the audio or network yet. the EFI runtime scares me in that this may not be an option for me. Looking up my MB in the hardware list, it is listed as unknown. |

Cool, I have gotten past that one. So it looks like you need to the nuke the offending extension when you get a panic.
Now I am getting an ERROR firewire unable to determine security mode; defaulting to full-secure then it sits in a: Still waiting for root device. more reading I guess.... |

Disable the firewire in bios and for "still..." you need to try with another applenforceata.kext nforce chipset, right? download macdrive for windows and go to /system/library/extensions and rename or delete the applenforceata.kext and try with another version.
go here and try. edit: THIS is the last medevilīs driver (29-feb-2008) |

Once again, thanks for the help, moved beyound that issue. I unfortunalty moved towards the IOATAController Device controler blocking bus issue. looks like I have a MCP 51 chip set. I will try medevil's latest driver, thanks for the link. BTW also thanks for helping out, I am truely greatful.
I will also look for other forceata kexts |

Download this, itīs a ioatafamily patched with medevilīs kext. You can try it, donīt forget delete or rename your kext (ioatafamily and applenforceata) if you can try this one and repair de permissions
chmod -R 775 IOATAfamily.kext chown -R root:wheel IOATAfamily.kext |

Still having issues. Not sure this driver is going to work with my hware. I got an older IDE drive put, and going to try to get off the SATA. Interesting that the installer had 0 problems with this drive and controler. I also have a silghtlly older Hp/Compaq machine. the installer did not pick up the drive on that one. Might see if I can get the driver to work with that MB.
I am baffled by this one. It should work. I am an old Unix dude, so very familar with this stuff. I even used to use AUX for a while. This might just take a while. So far I have put in a couple of days. |
