EFI or Non-EFI that is the question?

is it possible we could have a sticky for EFI files and NonEFI files as this has been a long drawn out process discovering which is which. First I found out there were efi and non efi kernels, then there were efi and non efi applesmbios.kext. I suppose that isnt the issue really its just knowing which is which. The main problem is things dont seem to state what they are. I suppose the other solution is if ppl state when they have something running if they are running an efi system or a non efi system.
