Snow Leopard disc won't boot

Hi guy just a little favour to ask. For Xmas i got a new rig and me being me i decided to try to install Hazard SL 10.6.1 - 10.6.2. I popped in my disc and am unable to get even to the install screen as it displays a few bits of text then immediately reboots. I have been told it's a "CMOS Reset" - Is this correct as all i can find are fixes AFTER SL Install but i can't even get to the install.

I Have tried iDeneb Lite 10.5.8 and also iAtkos S3 v2 Intel + AMD 10.6.3 but get "Still Waiting for Root Device" every time
