Heya,
I just picked up this laptop myself. I've swapped out the wifi, and am planning on loading up snow leopard this weekend. Could you be kind enough to posts the kext's that you used for your installation. Also have you tried this kext for your realtek card? I've read around and it seems to be working pretty well. Replace your dsdt.dsl in /Extra with the one in the zip file and put the ALC662.kext in /Extra/Extensions. Rebuild the Extensions.mkext in /Extra (if your using Chameleon 2). Cheers Ryan |

Asus K40IN-X1 - Still wating for root device - devfs_kernel-mount: f
Hi,
I'm a newbie and I was trying to install Snow Leopard in my new Asus K40IN-X1 laptop. I downloaded the Asus K50in bootCD v2 and I followed the steps installing from an original Snow Leopard DVD. In the first try I received the "Still waiting for root device" message so I booted the CD with the -x -v parameters and the installation began. According to the installer, the installation was successful. However when the system restarted, the error "devfs_kernel_mount: f " appeared in the screen and the boot process halted. I searched in google and in the forum and I changed the SATA configuration from "Enhanced" to "Compatible" but I'm still stuck in the "Still waiting for root device" error. What's the next step to follow to make a successful installation? Thanks |
