Hi. I've read through numerous discussions both here and on other forums, and can't seem to get my gainward geforce 8600 to work. I've installed the Zephyroth Amd 10.5.1 DVD, and everything works ok except for my graphics card. I've tried using three different installers, none of which work (I basically get a blank screen each time). Is there anything else that needs to be done ? Would be helpful if someone could point me to a thread or article describing the installation procedure.

Edit: Should note that I have an NForce 4 chipset, which I've heard could cause problems..

Regards
/ Per

you need to re-edit the Info.plist of Geforce.kext NVDANV50Hal.kext and NVDAResman.kext with your DeviceID only without &0xfff0ffff, and the last Nvinstaller from HERE

That installer freezes my system completely towards the end, and when I reboot I get a kernel panic and have to remove the NV* and GeForce* files in /System/Library/Extensions. I haven't updated to 10.5.2, could that be a problem?

I have a Gigabyte 8600GT 256MB in one computer - the only installer that worked for that card was johnniecarcinogen's v0.1 installer (drivers at insanelymac.com) I also have a Gigabyte 8600GTS 256MB in another - the only thing that worked for that was using Zephy's ORIGINAL "Universal Installer" AND applying the 10.5.1 AMD Updates. Unless you know how to fix the .kexts yourself, sometimes it takes quite a bit of effort to find a package or installer that works properly...

I wouldn't use 10.5.2 Software Update - that'll probably break everything... (At least until you have a patched/hacked for AMD version)

Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine...

Tried punk92's installer and after changing the values in the Info.plist's it works, but only on the VGA-port, not the DVI one (which kind of sucks). Any advice?
