Welcome to InfiniteMac!

Please provide us with some specifications about your system (CPU, Motherboard, Graphics & Model Number if applicable). Adding more specific information allows us to respond quickly with more precise answers. Chipset, LAN, Audio & If your Graphics are integrated or not, are excellent additions.

You can also place this information in your "Signature". It will then appear on every post you make. How to edit your signature: http://www.infinitemac.com/faq.php?f...atures_avatars

- Has it worked in the past or has it just stopped?

- Did it offer a crash report? If so post ONLY the thread that "crashed".

Has it worked in the past and now is having issues starting up or has it never worked?

You need Quartz Extreme enabled. You can check this by going into System Profiler and Graphics/Displays

A crash report would give us a hint as to the nature of the problem. We can set Crash Reporter to Developer mode and see if it displays.

Open Terminal and type:
Code:
defaults write com.apple.CrashReporter DialogType developer
Restart and see if it gives you a report when you open FCP

XSKey deals with registration though it looks as if its not installed at all. Do a search for XSKey, back any you find to a folder on your desktop and delete the originals. Make sure to look in your receipts folder /Library/Receipts

Now open up your install disk and find XSkey.pkg in the packages folder and manually install it.

Studio 3 is a bit newer than what I work with. Id say uninstall and remove any preference files and try to install again. I know FCP 5.1.4 runs fine. Retail install no problems.

I may be ordering upgrade disks in the next few weeks so Ill be able to confirm Studio 3. Ill post back

Good Luck
