iatkos v1 install problems :/

I'm having problems installing on my lenovo thinkpad r400... It has core 2 duo, so I'd think and assume it would work with little difficulty... I installed it successfully on an old compaq with a celeron d for gods sake...

I pop in the disk, and it loads to the white apple screen with the spinning dots loading icon. Then it sits. I look at the detailed boot, and it says it cannot acces root... Or something like that... It happens right after loading the mouse driver... If anyone can help me, thatd be great
