Well, it seems the new version of the MeDevil nforce ATA is not compatable with SATA dvd drives at all. I had 10.5.1 running, and in an attempt to get the dvd drive to burn (it could read) I tried installing the new MeDevil package, upon reboot, the system would recognize the DVD drive, but if you inserted any media, it would immediatly stop responding (everything else worked, just couldnt read DVD's). I figured I had borked somthing up, so I waited for 10.5.2.. downloaded and burned fine, boots intially fine.. but of course, the dreaded "Still waiting on root device" right after it loads the Nforce ATA kexts.. It seems to be an issue with the newest MeDevil, and The Nforce560(70?) chipset.
